Top Wordpress Plugins

The SEO Moola blog uses Wordpress as the underlying blogging application. If you’re not familiar with Wordpress, take a peek at the Wordpress web site. Wordpress is a great tool if you want to host your own blog as opposed to using a blogging service like blogger.com. And, part of what makes Wordpress so great is the support it has for plug-ins.
If you are using Wordpress or are interested in trying it, I strongly recommend that you also consider the following plug-ins; SEO Moola uses all of them. They add a lot of useful features like tagging support, but can also help you drive traffic to your blog.
- AdSense-Deluxe WordPress Plugin allows you to easily add Google AdSense ads to your blog and managing how and where they should appear.
- Search Meter gives you immediate knowledge of what your blog visitors are searching for using your blog’s search feature. This plug-in can really help you understand how you can better serve your visitors with more targeted and relevant content.
- Ultimate Tag Warrior is a very neat plug-in that gives your Wordpress blog tagging support. It works nicely in conjunction with the SEO Title Tag plug-in.
- SEO Title Tag can help your blog become more SEO-friendly by giving options to modify your blog title content by re-ordering the position of the blog name, including tags in the title and much more.
- Sociable is a fantastic plug-in for helping spread the word about your blog. It adds a set of clickable icons in the bottom of each post and page of your blog. The icons link to popular services like del.icio.us and digg.
- EverMore makes it rediculously easy to make sure that you take advantage of the well-known “Read more..” link techqniue in blogging. It automatically creates a “Read more…” link for you when you publish your blog posts. By using this plug-in, you will expose your visitors to two rounds (pages) of contextual ads and at the same time increase your page view count.
- Google Analytics plug-in adds, just like the name suggests, a Google Analytics tracking page code to your blog without you having to modify your template code (which is generally a bad practice).
- Statcounter plug-in, just like the Google Analytics plug-in, allows you to add Statcounter tracking page code to your blog.
- Sitemap Generator creates a new dynamically updated page on your blog that contains a full sitemap of your blog. This is useful for SEO purposes, but it also gives your visitors a single page overview of your blog’s content.
- Wordpress Contact Form makes it super easy to add a contact form to your blog. It includes input field validation and a thank-you confirmation page.
- FeedBurner plug-in makes it seamless to track your syndication blog feeds through FeedBurner. It does so through special “magic” so that you don’t have to update any of your RSS or Atoms feeds on your blog.
- Polls adds polling support to your blog. This can be a nifty feature if you want to engage your visitors and get some quick feedback on a hot-button issue perhaps.
I hope you find these Wordpress plug-ins useful in your blog. If you know of some other Wordpress plug-ins that you think should have been included in this list, please let me know.
